This photo is a double image that I created for a photo competition in which one of the categories was ‘An optical illusion’. The pub is the Woolpack Inn near Brookland on Romney Marsh, which also appeared in the first post in this blog in July 2010.

  1. It certainly has to be an optical illusion because no barley is grown in that area of the Romney Marsh. But the by-product is certainly dispensed from the pumps at the Woolpack….and it is also a very pleasing art creation. Like It..

  2. Parading your agricultural knowledge, George! In our time, much more of the Marsh was pasture, mainly for sheep. Since then a lot more has been turned over into arable, making the Marsh less pretty. And to make matters worse, the elms went with Dutch Elm disease.
